In this talk, Jean-Philippe Bouchaud (École normale supérieure, Capital Fund Management) introduces multiplicative growth in a simple model of an economy with exchanges and discusses the impact of redistribution and taxation on the concentration of wealth. The talk builds on the paper titled “Wealth Condensation in a Simple Model of Economy”, which was co-authored by Marc Mézard (Bocconi University) and first published in 2000.
