Projects
Open projects in ergodicity economics, looking for curious minds, and ongoing Active project we're currently working on.
- Ergodicity economics, behavioral economics, and ecological rationality It has long been recognized that maximizing expected utility need not lead to better outcomes for decision makers. Ergodicity economics makes this formally concrete. For instance in the infamous coin toss, the linear-utility optimizer will lose, while the EE agent wins. Project lead: Ole Peters, Gerd Gigerenzer Collaborators:
- Heuristics and the ErgEx experiment This project explores to what extend simple heuristics could have produced the choices made by participants in the controlled ErgEx decision environments. Which simple heuristics are approximately growth rate optimal and which best explain observed participant choices? Project lead: Colm Connaughton, Emilie Soysal Collaborators: Ratin Sazedul
- The London experiment Design and carry out a simple online experiment, where participants choose between gambles with different statistical properties. Introduce absorbing boundaries to make a single individual switch behavior from risk averse to risk seeking. Project lead: Arne Vanhoyweghen, Ole Peters Collaborators: Benjamin Skjold
